Protect the wet-area scope
A tub surround, standard tiled shower and custom shower with glass are not interchangeable. Ask the quote to identify the waterproofing system, tile coverage, niche, pan, drain and glass.
Plumbing location is a major branch
Keeping the toilet, tub and vanity in place usually creates less uncertainty than moving them. Relocation can affect drainage, venting, floor framing and access below the room.
Fixtures can hide large allowance gaps
Vanities, faucets, toilets, tubs, mirrors and accessories should have named products or explicit allowances. Compare the construction work separately from the fixture budget.
Ventilation and electrical need their own line
Fan ducting, lighting, heated floors, receptacles and circuit work can be overlooked in a headline bathroom price. Confirm what is included and whether permits or inspections apply locally.
