List every opening
Record approximate width, height and operating style. A small fixed window, casement, slider, bay and egress window should not share one assumed unit price.
Insert and full-frame are different scopes
An insert installation retains more of the existing frame. Full-frame replacement can address frame condition and change exterior/interior finishing, but usually requires more labour and materials.
Glazing and performance need specifications
Ask for the exact glass package, coatings, spacers, frame material and performance rating. For energy decisions, use product documentation and an EnerGuide evaluation rather than a generic savings promise.
Opening changes need separate review
Enlarging or relocating an opening may involve structure, cladding, interior repair and permits. The calculator only applies a broad factor; it cannot inspect a wall.
